The review process

This article is an introductory note on my process of reviewing products. It structured in the following steps:

1. My own experience with the products – note that I have oily acne prone, sensitive and dehydrated skin and my sucess criteria will be based on those conditions. I will also introduce performance KPIs to bring some objectivity to my subective opinion

2. Ingredient Profile analysis – the goal is to understand what are the active and supportive ingredients of the list and what are the expectations one might have based on the ingredients contained in the product . The results will be summarized in an interactive visualization.

3. Product Comparison analysis – the goal is to compare multiple products simultaneously based on a similiarity matrix score. In this dashboard, the user will the able to visualize similaritiy distances, select specific products, filter by results and dimensions  and analyze in depth the product characteristics and probabilities of sucess of one product against other products given certain inputs.

4. Feedback from other users in the internet – use of sentiment and topic analysis techniques for gathering data from more users with other different skin types/concerns. The goal here is to expand the product review beyond my own experience and try to have a more educated perspective on what people say about their experience with the product.
